The double-bell quarter-tone trumpet is an extraordinary instrument for performing contemporary repertoire, allowing for rapid timbral shifts and other extended techniques. Developed by Dutch trumpeter Marco Blaauw, the instrument also allows for precise microtonal tuning. Its intricate details combine exponentially to create a myriad of possibilities, making it optimal for creating new and exciting sound worlds. I am very grateful for the fine craftsmanship of Hub van Laar and his team, who created this beautiful instrument! In this project I will be improvising and composing.
